Notes
Something old out of my archives that I felt I had to get out of my system some time.
Not a lot of places are so bad that I hate them when I arrive and when I leave again. Hildesheim is an example, Niederaußem here another one. This is the southern entrance into the town, and it fills so many clichés that it hurts. We have the lone, long main street, cheap hotels, bored locals (not shown) watching the traffic and, above all, the huge and ugly lignite power plant. When driving through here I just had to stop (bonus points for those who can guess where) and take a picture.
In case you were wondering, I was looking for the rail system that connects the lignite surface mines and power plants in the area, but I didn’t get a really good picture.
