With the class 152 and the derived 189, DB Schenker certainly has more modern locomotives than the old 151, but on the really heavy trains, often as double-header, the 151 is still a mainstay of german railroading. This train, spotted in Cologne West, is empty, though. From the color of the insides of the cars, I’d guess they are used to haul coal, but DB has always used the same type of car for a lot of different loose freight (even if that’s a little inefficient), so it’s not absolutely certain.
