Notes
I’ve long tried to take a picture of this locomotive. The Siemens ER 20, called “Herkules” in Austria (a name that, unlike “Taurus”, doesn’t really seem to stick), is a diesel engine based on the EuroSprinter-platform with the new name EuroRunner. ER 20-014, owned by leasing company MRCE Dispolok, has already received the new black livery which does make it seem a little bit like a dung beetle. It’s part of a fleet used by Nord-Ostsee-Bahn (North/Baltic Sea Railroad) operating in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein. Here, it’s pushing a train formed of Bombardier “Married Pair” carriages towards Hamburg Altona.
