Notes
To the left, Nederlandse Sporswegen 1753, a class 1700 locomotive, stands around idly with a set of InterCity cars. To the right, yet another Plan V (or actually a lot of Plan Vs coupled) is standing. This one is owned by the NS (no, not Norfolk Southern, try again), and looks slightly (though not much) better than the Veolia ones . Still, these trains will probably be replaced with the new class 2400/2600, which are currently being tested nearby in the not-too-distant future.
Looking at those pictures now is kind of odd. I’ve spent most of my life so far right in the middle of germany, so the dutch yellow-blue still feels foreign and distant for me, even though I’ve taken these photos myself and it’s just a half-hour train ride there.
