Innotrans 2008 - Talgo L-9202

Notes

From spain comes the newest electric locomotive by Talgo and TEAM/Ingeteam (Wikipedia says TEAM, the locomotive says Ingeteam, so I guess the two are related) with special flexible trucks, which allow in-operation conversion from spanish 1668 mm (5.5 feet) wide gauge to standard 1435 mm (4.7 feet? Could that be correct?). All interesting sources about this locomotive are in spanish, and the closest I can get to that is bad french, so I’m not 100% certain about my information, but it seems that this locomotive has a top speed of 260 kph (160 mph) (other sources indicate 250 kph, 155 mph). It’s equipped for operation with 3 kV DC and 25 kV 50 Hz AC electricity. Maximum power is a rather low 3600 kW (4800 HP), although the Talgo trains it’s meant to work with are known for their light weight, so it’s probably still sufficient. I quite like the more edgy design here, sadly the locomotive was hidden in the shadows.

I think I’ve covered the most interesting mainline railroad exhibits. Next up are trams, but don’t worry, that weren’t that many.
