If you know my gallery you’ll probably agree that I’ve posted way too many pictures taken from this or a very similar point of view, and yes, I do feel kind of bad about it. This, however, is the very first with a class 218 diesel locomotive (and only the second with any diesel locomotive at all), so I think it still qualifies for posting.

218 217 is pulling the Regional Express 12 train from Cologne Trade Fair/Deutz to Trier via Gerolstein, into Cologne central station. This hourly service is the last or at least currently only one in Cologne central that still uses diesel locomotives. Anything else uses electric locomotives, EMUs or DMUs.
