Notes
To replace a variety of steam engines in the 1950s, , the Deutsche Bundesbahn of west germany developed a locomotive with two engines, hydraulic transmission and a total power output of 1618 kW (2170 HP). The V200, later known as class 220, with it’s two-tone color scheme and metal letters is considered one of the great classics of german locomotive design these days.
What this one here was doing in Oker in 2005, I don’t recall. In fact I don’t know whether I ever knew, I just took pictures. The locomotive belongs to MEH, a private railroad company, and is styled in the typical design of the 1950s.
