Notes
It’s difficult to say much about this shot, I just like the way it looks. The crossing sign in front belongs to the Bollrich line, which used to go up the Bollrich hill and provided the connection of Goslar’s Rammelsberg mine to Oker’s ore processing factories via Oker freight station. When mining in the Rammelsberg stopped in 1988, about 1020 years after it was first mentioned in historic documents, the line was no longer needed and was left to deteriorate. As there is absolutely nothing interesting at the other end, just a mining museum that can be accessed more easily by road, it’s unlikely to ever be restored.
