Notes
Another, slightly earlier look at 99 7237, which is getting coals (apparently very fast) here. Getting coals into locomotives is a job that can be done with a lot of sophistication as well as without any, and HSB apparently decided on the simpler route.
The Harzer Schmalspurbahnen drive daily, according to schedule and a lot, and even run some commuter trains, but ultimately their main purpose is tourism. Since steam engines are the absolute stars, and for quite a few people the main reason they come to Wernigerode, there is a raised platform from which you can overlook the entire (small) depot. Non-railroad personnel is, by default, not allowed on the actual depot grounds, but it is no problem at all to get an oral permission (or in our case a nod) by the ones in charge.
