You will always find two or three class 294 switchers in Stolberg main station, or so it seems to me when passing through.

The 294 belongs to the surprisingly large amount of classes that are derived from the V90. Notice the odd yellow thing on the coupler? This is an automatic shunting coupling which replaces the chain normally used for coupling. It’s significantly faster, but it can’t couple brake lines at the same time, so it’s not allowed for anything but switching.
