Notes
Ilfeld is a rather small town north of Nordhausen, directly at the Harzquerbahn. Here, the last steam train of the day is standing there, coming from Wernigerode and going to Nordhausen.
The Harzer Schmalspurbahnen drive every day with schedule and steam engines. However, the entire system focuses nearly only on tourism, not on normal A-to-B passenger traffic. The steam engine here belongs to the most common type on the system, and is actually one of the newest in use there.
