Notes
There was surprisingly little information about this train available at Innotrans, but thankfully there’s an article about it on the german Wikipedia, so I’m not completely lost here.
This is a four-part EMU by polish manufacturer PESA, for 160 kph (100 mph) fast regional traffic between Warsaw and Gdańsk Łódź. It appears to be nearly entirely low-floor. All propulsion technology seems to be on the roof again, which is admittedly not that much of a feat given that with the polish 3 kV DC system, no heavy transformer is needed. Sadly, one couldn’t enter it. Still, I think it’s interesting to see how Poland’s rail industry turned out nearly twenty years after the breakdown of socialism, and it seems that they are not doing badly at all.
Edit: Got the other end of the line wrong, thanks to scizophrenikz for the correction!
