Maintenance of way railroad vehicles always look odd, since they have to be functional and cheap, but this rail grinder, working for Schweerbau, is something else entirely.

I couldn’t find any signs or leaflets, so I can only guess what’s up with this odd shape. Maybe it’s designed to be useable in the London Underground as well?
