Notes
Behind the bushes that occupy an awful lot of Aachen West freight station these days, V201 of the Rurtalbahn lies, waiting for it’s prey. Or a freight train to pull. Pretty much the same thing.
The G2000 is Vossloh’s strongest locomotive, and the only one with two cabs. It has open walkways, which is rather unusual for a european locomotive. It’s not exactly a beauty at the best of times, but the black paint job of Mitsumi Rail Capital Europe (MRCE, a leasing company) with the white contrast area does really not help at all, I think. The electric locomotives with the same colors are nicknamed "Black Ladies", but I don’t think anyone will extend that name to this unit anytime soon. The huge white logos of the Rurtalbahn, a private railroad company in the region, only make it worse. But if it can pull what it’s supposed to pull, then I guess I have no reason to complain, right?
