Notes
There are three different classes in regular service on the Berlin S-Bahn network, but I’m afraid I only have pictures of two of them: The class 481 and here the class 485.
This train was built in the 1980s in the GDR, and was the first post-war model in the east side. Against all tradition, it used to be painted in red with a grey window area, but since a few years ago it has been converted to traditional yellow-red. As the technologically oldest EMU kind in Berlin, quite a few have already been taken out of service, but for the foreseeable future, it is indispensable.
