Notes

The Brocken line is a simple branch line from Drei Annen Hohne up to the Brocken, and never had any real economic importance. However, it’s touristic value is enormous, since it’s the fastest, most convenient and of course most stylish way to get up there. Here, a long additional train is making it’s way downwards, over Drei Annen Hohne’s main street.

This is the last picture (from this trip) where the steam locomotive points the wrong way around, all of the others I want to post have the boiler facing forward.
