Notes
I did want to make a longer description, but I stupidly decided to post this while making a pause right in the middle of a “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” two-parter and now my concentration is all gone, but I know I can’t rest and enjoy until this image is out of my system now, so here a short overview:
- Steam locomotive
- Harzer Schmalspurbahnen (Harz Narrow Gauge Railway)
- Station Drei Annen Hohne
- Class 99.72 “Neubaulok” (new, i.e. post-war, locomotive)
- Train coming from Wernigerode
- Train heading to Nordhausen
- It was cold
Any questions?

Your two images posted here are very beautiful and precisely fit the Christmas and New Year mood.
